Gerta Raidma started her composition studies in 2014 at Heino Eller Tartu Music College under Alo Põldmäe. In 2020, she graduated cum laude from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre where she studied with Helena Tulve. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree under Helena Tulve and Toivo Tulev. She has won numerous composition competitions for young composers in Estonia and taken part of summer composition courses instructed by Tatjana Kozlova-Johannes, Tauno Aints and Maria Kõrvits. Raidma’s catalogue comprises mainly choral music and ensemble works. Her pieces have been performed by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Collegium Musicale, Tampere Cappella (FI), Sinfonietta of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Trio Mythos (IT), Kadri-Ann Sumera and others. International festivals she has appeared at include the Ung Nordisk Musik festival in Finland and the highSCORE festival in Italy where she also received a master class from Christopher Theofanidis and attended classes and conducted individual studies with Sarah Kirkland Snider, Amy Beth Kirsten and Dmitri Tymoczko.

In 2018, she made her debut at the Estonian Music Days with a choral piece „je suis“. In 2019, this piece was selected as one of the two suggested works at the 66th International Rostrum of Composers in the category of composers under 30.
